Each ampoule contains:
Ondansetron (as hydrochloride dihydrate) 4.00 mg 8.00 mg
Citric acid anhydrous 0.91 mg 1.82 mg
Sodium citrate dihydrate 0.57 mg 1.14 mg
Sodium chloride 18.00 mg 36.00 mg
Sterile distilled water for injection q.s. to 2.00 mL 4.00 mL
THERAPEUTIC ACTION:
Ondansetron is a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist.

INDICATIONS:
Ondansetron is indicated for:
1. Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with initial or repeat cycles of emetogenic chemotherapy, including high-dose cisplatin. Efficacy of 32 mg single dose beyond 24 hours in these patients has not been established.
2. Prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. As with other antiemetics, routine prophylaxis is not recommended for patients in whom there is little expectation of postoperative nausea and vomiting. This medicine is indicated in patients where postoperative nausea and vomiting must be avoided, provided their incidence is low. For patients who do not receive Ondansetron prophylactically and who experience postoperative nausea and vomiting, Ondansetron Servycal injection may be given to avoid further episodes.
